First Issues of SPUMS Journal

The first Newsletter published by SPUMS was in May 1971. Over the next several years the content had expanded such that for the first issue in 1975 (and somewhat 'tongue-in-cheek'!) this became the "South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society Journal. 1975 January-March;Vol. 5 No. 1".

MEDLINE, Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch®) and Embase/Scopus and complies with the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendation for the Conduct, Report, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals. Articles from 2017 are deposited in PubMed Central.
